CLEARWATER, Fla. - Dec. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Attorney Mark Roman of Roman & Gaynor has earned his recertification as a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer.  Of the lawyers eligible to practice law in Florida, less than two percent have earned board certification in Civil Trial Law. Board certification is The Florida Bar's highest evaluation of attorneys' competency, experience and professionalism.  Board Certification evaluates an attorney’s knowledge, skills and proficiency in various area of law as well as both professionalism and ethics in practice.

A March 2012 survey of adult internet users found that three out of every four consumers seeking an attorney over the previous year used online resources at some point in the process, indicating that the way consumers look for lawyers has changed in today's digital age.  It is not uncommon for consumers to compare lawyers' qualifications online before contacting them.

However, they might not know that in Florida, only lawyers who are Board Certified by The Florida Bar are allowed to refer to themselves as a "specialist," "expert," or with the letters "B.C.S." (Board Certified Specialist). These terms let you know an attorney is a legal expert, a credential that can help you sort through the clutter of Internet legal advertising when comparing lawyers’ qualifications.
