Award-winning Teen Author Gives Gift Of Reading To The Boys & Girls Club

Sci-fi Novelist Stone Erickson and Delphine Publications host Black Angel and League of Legends holiday book drive

ATLANTA - Dec. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Award-winning teen author Stone Erickson in conjunction with Delphine Publications will host a special Black Angel and League of Legends holiday book drive to benefit the Tony Matthews Boys and Girls Club on Saturday December 14, 2013 4:30PM-7:30PM. An avid gamer and sci-fi enthusiast Stone Erickson partnered with the Atlanta Microsoft Store located at Lenox Square Mall 3393 Peachtree Road NE Atlanta, GA 30326 to host the book drive.  Stone Erickson wanted to give back to the kids of the Tony Matthews Boys and Girls Club where he held the first reading of his novel “Black Angel.” “I saw how much all of the kids enjoyed me reading to them and thought if everyone had a booked that sparked their interest they would love reading too,” says Stone Erickson.

Stone Erickson’s holiday book drive will feature a sci-fi gaming experience and tournament of League of Legends for kids ages 10-15. “My friends and I spend hours playing League of Legends but it is also very important to me to read,” he explains. “I want to show other kids it is just as cool to read as it is to play video games.” The drive will kick off with the first 20 kids receiving a free copy of Stone Erickson’s “Black Angel.” Attendees will also enjoy free food, prizes, other Microsoft games and more. Dafina Books, Little Brown for Young Readers, Khara Campbell and NCM Publishing are making the holiday book drive possible. Donations of gently used and new books are being collected to benefit the Tony Matthew Boys and Girls Club.

In addition to the holiday book drive, Stone Erickson is set to release the second novel of the series for the 2013 holiday season. The 16-year-old author recently won Science Fiction Author of the Year at the prestigious AALAS and launched #BlackBoysCanReadandWrite, a literary campaign geared towards changing the perception of African-American boys in society and their self-perception.
