The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra Will Replace The Moscow City Symphony 'Russian Philharmonic' on January 13, 2014 (West Palm Beach, FL – December 9, 2013) The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is announcing a change in the 2013/2014 Regional Arts MUSIC “At Eight” Concert Series, sponsored by Leonard and Sophie Davis. The Moscow City Symphony “Russian Philharmonic” The MUSIC “At Eight” concert will now feature the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra with Conductor Perry So. The new program is: + Barber / Symphony No. 1, Op. 9 + Britten / Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes, Op. 33a + Schumann / Symphony No. 3 in E-flat Major, Op. 97 (“Rhenish”) Perry So is one of eight highly acclaimed young conductors leading the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra in the 2013-2014 season as candidates for the post of new music director. Since his appointment to the Hong Kong Philharmonic in 2008, Perry So has risen to the position of Associate Conductor. He is also one of the inaugural Dudamel Conducting Fellows at the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He received first prize at the Fifth International Prokofiev Conducting Composition in 2008 (St. Petersburg, Russia), only the third time the top prize has been awarded. Regional Arts patrons and individual ticket holders may use the same ticket they’re holding for the concert on Monday, January 13 at 8 pm. About the Raymond F.
