St. Louis' Craig Workman Appears On LUTV To Discuss The Public Relations Industry & Philanthropy

ST. LOUIS - Dec. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- Workman Communications Group President Craig Workman appeared recently on LUTV’s public affairs show ‘On The Move’ to discuss the state of the public relations industry and journalism, and to explore the agency’s philanthropic support of Project COPE.  The television appearance and the Project COPE support are part of the agency’s 20^th anniversary celebration in 2013.

“Public relations in the digital age is still about telling your story, but now it is even more about communications technologies and community-building,” Workman said.  “This means that strategic communications planning, public affairs, crisis management and corporate communications programs must plan and address communications channels much more deeply than ever before, and then customize the message to each channel.  That said, I am still a believer the fact that well-thought communications and clear writing — not techno-speak and PR spam — are just as valuable as the medium upon which they are carried to their intended audience.”

Workman described the agency’s pro-bono support of Project COPE as a combination of fundraising activities leadership, strategic communications consulting and development services.

“We have refreshed and re-launched their website, organized a golf tournament that raised more than $12,000 and established a relationship with a tire recycling company to employ all of the ex-offenders currently in Project COPE’s program,” Workman said.  “Finding steady employment is particularly difficult for ex-offenders, so these jobs are particularly helpful to the organization as a whole and to its individual members.”
