"Queens & Cowboys" To Hit Festival Circuit; Successful Crowd-Funding Campaign Continues

LOS ANGELES - Dec. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Filmmakers Matt Livadary and Erin Krozek have launched a new crowd-funding campaign this week to finish funding their latest project QUEENS AND COWBOYS on the popular crowdsourcing site, Indiegogo. Principle filming has been completed, and the capital raised on this campaign will go to sound editing, color correction, promotional marketing and an original score by renowned composer Joachim Cooder who has contributed music to such films as “Primary Colors” and “Lars and the Real Girl”.

“Documentary filmmaking attracts the most passionate filmmakers in the world. There’s very little glory, and very little funding dedicated to it,” said QUEENS AND COWBOYS Director/Editor/Producer Livadary. “We were successful in raising $37,300 in our first crowd-funding campaign to shoot the film. The support we found in the community was overwhelming. We know this film inspires, and emotionally moves, many people in-and-out of the LGBT community, and I hope we reach our goal to complete the film so we can bring it to cities across the nation.”

Potential investors can choose from varying creative rodeo-themed levels of support and perks that range from a custom bandana, a “Best of the West” movie gift pack, to a private screening with the director, or even an Executive Producer credit.

“This project has been so personally fulfilling for me,” said Producer Krozek (“Duck Dynasty”, “I’m Alive”, “Mi Corazon”). “The fact that the LGBTQ and greater film community is coming together to get it finished just makes the process even more profound.”

QUEENS & COWBOYS chronicles a complete season of the International Gay Rodeo Association (IGRA). Roping and riding in 15 rodeos across North America, the IGRA's courageous cowboys and cowgirls brave challenges both in and out of the arena on their quest to qualify for the World Finals at the end of the season. And along the way, they bust every stereotype in the book. This film exposes the world to the unsung LGBT community in the old and new west. This uniquely American subject explores how far we’ve come with LGBT rights, and what challenges we still have ahead.

Matt Livadary(Director, Producer, Editor)

Matt Livadary is a passionate filmmaker and a Los Angeles native. After graduating from USC’s Cinema School, he worked for several years at the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) with clients such as Ang Lee, Spike Jonze and Cameron Crowe. A "deep and wide" filmmaker, Matt possesses a talent for showcasing sentimental, and broadly appealing content; particularly utilizing playful themes, passionate optimism and nostalgia to connect with his audience.

Erin Krozek (Producer)

After graduating from UC Berkeley in 2006, Erin cut her entertainment teeth at the William Morris Agency and as the assistant to Oscar-nominated filmmaker Jason Reitman (THANK YOU FOR SMOKING, JUNO, UP IN THE AIR). Since March 2010, Erin has worked as a Producer in unscripted television and has produced series, pilots, and a TV-movie for networks including A&E, Travel Channel, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, Spike TV, and Animal Planet. The proud daughter of a gay father, Erin sees “Queens & Cowboys” not only as a portrait of our country’s complex LGBTQ community, but as an exploration of the universal desire to find the place where we fit.
