Massage Therapy Student Numbers Are Up

Tulsa, Okla., (December 20, 2013) – It was with great pleasure the Massage Therapy department welcomed Ms Katie Tallent  on October 16, 2013 to Clary Sage College as Clinic Coordinator.

Ms Tallent’s credentials include graduating in 2008 from Alaska Career College, National Certification through NCTMB, and Craniosacral Therapy. Over her course of practice she has added Deep Tissue massage with focus in sports injuries, post-surgery recovery, surgery prevention, and car accident injuries.

It was because of an auto accident in 2007 that Katie became interested in alternative/complimentary therapies, and after graduating from Alaska Career College she transitioned from working with at-risk youth and music into massage full time.

Katie moved to Tulsa from Alaska in 2010 and after working in 2 Tulsa area spas she decided it was time for her to take a step toward a position with more responsibilities and more opportunities.

Katie says, “What I like most about my new job is the interaction of one on one teaching and growth between externs, LMT’s and myself.”

You can begin to see why we’re so glad that her desire for more and our need for an experienced professional matched at the perfect time.

The Massage Therapy Department at Community Care College is dedicated to providing quality professional education to its students and alumni.  Instructors with over 30 years of experience train the students in the skills necessary to succeed in today’s professional massage market place.  The students at Community Care College participate in 3 monthly volunteer events as our commitment to make a positive impact on Tulsa and surrounding areas.

The curriculum at Community Care College involves extensive practical experience in Swedish massage and all relaxation massage techniques.  In addition, training is included but not limited to Neuromuscular massage, Reflexology, Deep Tissue, Pregnancy massage, Shiatsu, Lymphatic Drainage, Thai massage, Polarity, Tuning Fork, Craniosacral, Therapeutic Spa, Sports massage, Stone massage, and business and marketing techniques for the growing massage field.
