The Methods GN Adopts for Prolong the Service Life of Decanting Centrifuge

LANGFANG, China - Jan. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- The working principle for the decanter centrifuge is gravitation force. By continuously high speeded rotary, the centrifuge produces a 1000-3000 G-force to separate the solids from liquids. The fierce rotation does not only brings the high efficiency ,but also the difficulties in prolong the service life of the machine against abrasions, overloads, vibrating and noises. To solve those problems, GN Solids Control has its own methods.

1）The Material for Rotor Drum and Impeller of Centrifuge

GN uses SS316 for the rotor drum and screw impeller of their GNLW series decanter centrifuges, which are much more endurable than other stainless steels. Even for other parts which may be touched by the liquid, GN also adopts the best SS304 as the material.

2）  Special Treatment for Decanting Centrifuge Impellers

During operation, the impeller is used to push the solids out of the drum. So the impeller is easily to be abased, if not protected well. Lots of manufacturers choose spray welding protection. But the spray welding has a clearly shortage that after welding, the dynamic balance must be readjusted. And such is a time consuming task which reduces the efficiency.

To solve this problem, GN screw anti-abrasion plates onto the impellers. One choice is abrasion resistant ceramic, the other is tungsten carbide alloy. To screw the plates is easily and quickly, meanwhile the dynamic balance is not affected。

3）  World-famous Bearings for Decanting Centrifuge

As rotating equipment, the centrifuge requires high standard bearings to minimize the vibrating and noises to better the efficiency. GN Solids Control always use SKF bearings originally from Germany。

4）  Efficient Overload Protections for Decanting Centrifuge

GN employs two ways of overload protections at the same time to protect the centrifuge, over-current protection and liquid coupling protection.

5）  Excellent Electrical Components

The electrical components of GNLW series centrifuges are from SIEMENS or SHNEINDER.
