Precision Auto Works of LIC NYC's only Tesla Approved Collision Repair Center (TACRC)

NEW YORK - Jan. 6, 2014 - PRLog -- Long Island City, New York - January 6, 2014. Premium electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla Motors has invited Precision Auto Works of LIC to become a Tesla Approved Collision Repair Center (TACRC). Precision Auto Works is the only Tesla certified collision center in New York City.

Mike Giannakos, an owner of Precision Auto Works, said Precision's I-CAR-certified Technicians were invited to Tesla headquarters in Fremont, CA to complete a combined 160 hours of factory training on the fully-electric, aluminum-constructed vehicles.

"It's exciting for Precision Auto Works to be a part of the green automaking revolution," said Mr. Giannakos, who is an ASE certified Master Technician who holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and is also FAA-certified in aircraft repair, " and to see so much cutting-edge technology in each Tesla vehicle."

The shop's commitment to service and repair eco-friendly vehicles to began two years ago when they pursued specialized hybrid and electric vehicle training and certification through Go-Green Auto Centers of Long Island. Electric and hybrid vehicles require training and equipment not available in most automotive repair shops. Adding to the challenge of proper repair, Tesla vehicles are constructed of aluminum, like aircraft, requiring additional specialized aluminum-repair equipment and training to properly and safely restore them after damage to the car's exterior.

Precision Auto Works of LIC provides both collision and mechanical repairs in Long Island CIty, NY for all domestic, European and Asian vehicles, including hybrids and fully-electric vehicles. The shop is open Monday through Saturday.
