Once in a lifetime opportunity to work with Hollywood special effects makeup legend Shaune Harrison!

MANCHESTER, U.K. - Jan. 10, 2014 - PRLog -- The Printworks are now on a hunt to find a new mascot for the scheme as the previous mascot, Harry the Hound, will be retired this year after working for a faithful 13 years. The winning design will be brought to life by one of the world's best movie makeup sculptors and artists, Shaune Harrison. Shaune has worked on some of the biggest films ever made including creating make up for Voldemort from Harry Potter and Red Skull from Captain America.

Shaune is coming to Manchester to open his own makeup academy later in 2014. Shaune started in the film industry in 1988 at the age of 20 working in the field of Special Make-up Effects.

Shaune has been involved in creating creatures and prosthetic make-ups on some of the top grossing films in the world, films such as: Harry Potter (1 – 8), Star Wars (Episodes 1 & 2), Sleepy Hollow, The Mummy, The Fifth Element, The Da Vinci Code, Captain America: The First Avenger and World War Z. He is currently working on Marvels; Avengers 2. He has won several awards including an award at the New York Short Film Festival for Art Direction.

The mascot design competition is open to people of all ages and Shaune himself will pick the winner. Entries close on the 28th February 2014 and the winners will be announced mid-March. The winner will work alongside Shaune to develop the design and bring it to life.

We are very honoured to have the help of such a movie legend and it’s a great opportunity for the winner to gain valuable experience too. We have already had some great suggestions and we look forward to seeing what else people come up with”
