By: Dermatology & Skin Health While the group will be running to raise monies for the foundation, they’ll also be heightening awareness regarding the deadliest form of skin cancer – Melanoma. “A few years back, we lost a coworker suddenly... She died from an asthma attack,” said Roy. “To honor her and raise awareness about asthma I ran 55K in 4:20 and raised nearly $6,000. From that moment on, I decided that every year's athletic endeavors should have meaning… More than simply doing it for myself. Last year was dedicated to MS. 2014 is dedicated to raising awareness and money for Melanoma. I am overwhelmed thus far by the support from the community who have assisted with fundraising (including my workplace: Dermatology & Skin Health) and am incredibly honored to have been selected to run with Team Running for Cover in support of the Melanoma Foundation of New England.” On February 5th Dermatology & Skin Health will be holding “Martini’s for Melanoma,” a fundraising event that will be held at Cartelli’s Bar & Grill in Dover. The event will run from 5:30 – 9:00 PM – featuring drink, food, wine tasting, a special guest, live entertainment, live auction, and raffles including items such as ski passes, Red Sox memorabilia and a whole lot more. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the Melanoma Foundation of New England. Tickets are $45. “We’re elated to be involved in the worthy efforts of raising awareness about Melanoma,” said Dermatology & Skin Health Practice Manager Laurie Seavey. “Our staff has joined forces to work behind the scenes gathering donations, selling special bracelets, and making people aware of our mission – to fight melanoma by increasing awareness, supporting patients, survivors & families. As Michelle trains for the race, and the Marathon date inches closer, excitement mounts within our practice as we team together to support such an amazing woman running for such a well-intentioned cause. Big things start small… We’re doing our part, and are hoping the community jumps on board with us.” For more information on the initiative and Michelle’s progress leading up to the 118th Annual Boston Marathon: www.dermskinhealth.com/ For interviews and all other applicable media request, please contact: pr@boldwerks.com End
