Super Bowl Week Events in Northern New Jersey: "Big Game" Activities Abound!

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Jan. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- If you plan on visiting the northern NJ area for Super Bowl XLVIII, or if you're a resident of the region, you're in for a good time during the week leading up to the Big Game! Communities and organizations throughout Bergen, Essex and Hudson Counties are planning all kinds of pre-game festivals, events, fundraisers and more. Super Bowl Host Committee to Commence Super Bowl Week with Public Concert Event and Fireworks Display at Liberty State Park

Area football fans and visitors to New York and New Jersey will have a unique opportunity to welcome Super Bowl XLVIII to the region, as the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee in partnership with Macy's will produce the "Super Bowl Kickoff Spectacular," a free, ticketed event featuring performances by Daughtry and Goo Goo Dolls, with additional acts to be announced, and a first-class Macy's Fireworks show. The kickoff event, the first to ever be associated with a Super Bowl, will take place on Monday, January 27, along the Hudson River at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey, and serve as the official launch to the weeklong events. Rutherford Winter Festival!

The 2014 Rutherford Winter Festival will be held on Saturday, February 1st at Lincoln Park and the Borough Hall property on Park Avenue in Rutherford, New Jersey. This event will feature live music from 12 noon to 7:00 pm, ice skating on a synthetic rink with plenty of skates to rent, and a snow machines will make sure there is white fluffy stuff from which to host a snow sculpture contest.There will also be a chain saw ice carving demonstration, a beer tent hosted by the Rutherford Fire Departments, food vendors selling hot chocolate and other warm winter comfort foods, craft vendors and those selling hats, scarves, mittens, hand warmers, and other winter day necessities, children’s rides and activities, horse and wagon rides, and more. Females, Football & Philanthropy Fundraiser

Females, Football & Philanthropy will be the first-ever NY/NJ celebration for women, by women and about women raising funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society and their 100th year anniversary. Powerhouse women from New York and New Jersey will join together on Thursday, January 30th from 7:00 pm-10:00 pm at the Upper Montclair Countr Club in Clifton, New Jersey.The three unifying objectives for this event are: energizing women, acknowledging and celebrating the women that love the sport of football and creating a blockbuster fundraiser.
