Cast adds flair to photo shoot

Jan. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Not many local actors and dancers have the opportunity to perform a household name stage production—and when the opportunity rises, you can be assured that those given the opportunity will take full advantage.

Indianapolis is home to many talented stars in the making which half of them will make up the cast for the upcoming musical stage production The Color Purple which was derived from the book written by Alice Walker.

The cast of the musical recently got together for an exclusive behind the scenes photo shoot to help promote the upcoming musical which opens January 31 at the Athenaeum Theater in downtown Indianapolis.

In a recent interview, producer and actress Joyce Licorish said, “The city needs to support this show because it’s a rare opportunity for the community to look at some amazing local African American talent.”

The cast of the show is compromised of local dancers, singers, actors and musicians who all share the same dreams—seeing the historic story of The Color Purple come to the stage.

“The atmosphere of this show is really like being around family. Once the camera began snapping, all of the cast really bonded and began getting really silly just like candid family photos.” said Pounds and publicist of the show.

Audience members will be able to view the exclusive behind the scenes photos from the shoot during show times.
