David Fiske to discuss Solomon Northup on Forget-Me-Not Hour online radio program

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Jan. 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Fiske researched this biography of Twelve Years A Slave author Solomon Northup, whose memoir recently came out as a movie. Fiske will talk about Northup's life in upstate New York before and after the travesty of his enslavement. Fiske worked on the book with Clifford W. Brown and Rachel Seligman.

Fiske is a retired librarian who conducts genealogical and local history research. He has spent years researching Northup, a free black man who was lured from his home in Saratoga Springs, New York, and sold into slavery before the Civil War. After being rescued years later, Northup wrote a book about his experiences. Northup's book is the basis for the 2013 film 12 Years a Slave, which has earned numerous major awards and nominations.

Jane E. Wilcox, an author and genealogy researcher, hosts the Forget-Me-Not Hour on blogtalkradio.
