Follow on Google News | The 2015 Mazda MX-5 Miata Will Debut at the Chicago Auto Show Next YearThe iconic Mazda sports car will be fully redesigned for a new generation.
By: Community Mazda http://www.communitymazda.com/ Information about the redesigned model has already started to come forward. For the redesign, Mazda plans to reduce the car’s weight to around 2200 pounds. This would improve the performance and handling of the vehicle, as well as boosting fuel economy. Likely steel will be the primary metal used for the new car. The next generation Miata should be the first of the line to gain a new SKYACTIV powertrain. These have appeared in other Mazdas like the new 2014 Mazda3 and have dramatically increased fuel economy. A SKYACTIV powertrain would further increase fuel economy about 30% over the current model. In order to accommodate the SKYACTIV engine, which features a lengthy exhaust manifold to boost fuel economy, the vehicle will have to be longer than the current model. This will also provide more interior room for the passenger. The design for the car is expected to be quite different than the current model, but it should still be available as a convertible. The 2014 Mazda MX-5 Miata is currently available at Community Mazda. The two-door convertible marks the 25th anniversary of the small sports car. It offers sporty and precise handling thanks to its near perfect weight distribution. The vehicle’s affordable price also makes it attractive to more buyers than other sports cars. The Miata is available with either a hardtop or soft top convertible roof. http://www.communitymazda.com/ Community Mazda will have more information on the 2015 Mazda MX-5 Miata in the coming months.
