DJ Spinderella host Antibullying, Mentoring & Music at Irving ISD’s Singley Academy

DALLAS - Jan. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Music and Mentoring is an event that will introduce students to the power of mentoring and allow Singley Academy StuCo mentors to meet their Travis QuEST mentees at an engaging and fun event! Students will hear DJ Spinderella speak about anti-bullying and mentoring as well as lessons she learned as a legendary DJ in the music industry.

About Us

QuEST is a 21st Century Federal Grant funded learning center that provides academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children. The program helps students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.

Bridging the Gap Mentoring Program is a nonprofit organization that changes the trajectory of our students’ lives through peer mentoring. BTGMP helps prepare students for the next step by encouraging positive social interactions, good study habits, and we provide TAKS / college prep.. In addition to students working together, community professionals lead students in activities such as short term and long term academic goal planning.
