Their XL plan used to cost $42 per month but now has been dropped in price to just $29 per month. The more data used the more the prices have dropped. Minutes and text messages have not dropped in price but they have simply been allowed more of it for the same price. $11 per month gets you 4,800 messages instead of (just) 4,000. Ting has also added an extra 100 minutes to call time totaling 2,100 minutes for the same price of just $35 per month. Note, that if you end up using a little less than that you are credit back the extra amount to your next bill. In some cases your plan is also dropped to the lower monthly fee. If you then end up using more minutes than you thought you are not penalized and paid an extra “overage” fee of any kind. Ting uses the Sprint network and as of today February 3, 2014, Sprint has dropped their pricing. Ting decided to also drop their pricing and pass on the savings to their customers instead of keeping the pricing the same. Since the popularity of no contract phones has only increased, this is only a win situation for the consumer.
