Arvada Chamber of Commerce Recognizes Local Businesses at 89th Annual Dinner

ARVADA, Colo. - Feb. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- The Arvada Chamber of Commerce recently honored four Arvada-based businesses for their commitment to strengthening the local business economy and community at its 89th Annual Dinner held on Jan. 24, 2014. Full-service printing and marketing company AlphaGraphics of Arvada, Downtown Denver, and Golden won Business of the Year, Colorado Community Media won the Behind the Scenes Award, and Susie Sorenson won Ambassador of the Year.

Full-service printing and marketing services company AlphaGraphics of Arvada, Downtown Denver, and Golden won the Business of the Year award for its extensive community involvement and overall dedication to businesses in Arvada. The company supports civic organizations including the Arvada Festivals Commission and Westwoods Elementary PTA, along with local youth sports teams and nonprofit organizations. The company is also a driving force in service to the City of Arvada, with president Ed Rothschild sitting on the city’s bicycle advisory committee and its planning commission, a position appointed by the city council.

Colorado Community Media, a joint venture between MetroNorth Newspapers, Mile High Newspapers, and Community Media of Colorado, won the Behind the Scenes award for serving as an authoritative source on the city’s notable events and news.

The Ambassador of the Year recognition was awarded to Susie Sorenson, insurance broker at Lincoln Financial Services and ambassador for the Arvada Chamber. Sorenson was recognized for her six-year commitment to the Arvada Chamber’s events as a volunteer, and for her dedication to expanding the scope of the Arvada Chamber’s work.

"These award recipients are model examples of the ‘winning’ business culture we have in Arvada,” said Arvada Chamber president Kami Welch. "We are fortunate to have such a driven and dedicated community of businesses that make the city a great place in which to work and live."

The Arvada Chamber also recognized two individuals influential in the Arvada business community. Hazel Hartbarger, director of the Arvada Economic Development Association was recognized as the Woman’s Chairman’s Choice recipient; and Ron Slinger, executive director at Red Rocks Community College Foundation, was recognized as the Men’s Chairman’s Choice recipient.
