DermOne Launches Five Offices in North Texas with Free Skin Care Checks

DALLAS - Feb. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- DermOne Dermatology Centers, a national provider of choice in the practice of dermatology, is pleased to announce the opening of five offices in Dallas/Fort Worth including Arlington, Irving, Mesquite, Waxahachie, and its signature location in Grand Prairie, giving North Texans access to excellent care for their skin. DermOne will also be providing up to 500 free skin care checks ($80,000 value) to the good Samaritans of Dallas/Fort Worth. A few of the top personalities and civic leaders of DFW led by example and ‘showed some skin’ for a screening at a DermOne location, including Grand Prairie’s City Councilman Tony Shotwell and Assistant Fire Chief Bill Murphy, Mrs. Texas International Michelle Berndt, media personalities Amy Vanderoef and Roni Proter, popular bloggers Autumn Rose Reo (Mamma Challenge) and Betsy Mitchell (The Dallas Socials), and Arlington’s charity extraordinaire Jeannie Panton Deakyne. As part of a healthy skin initiative, these community leaders were checked for anything that could indicate skin cancer -- an annual exam that is recommended for everyone to help maintain the health of their body's largest organ, their skin.

Skin cancer is a serious issue in North Texas. In fact:

· It’s the most common form of cancer in the U.S., with more than 3.5 million skin cancers diagnosed in more than two million people annually.

· There are more new cases of skin cancer than breast, prostate, lung and colon cancer – combined.

· One in five members of the Dallas/Fort Worth community will develop skin cancer in the course of their lifetime.  That’s 20 percent!

When left unchecked, skin cancer can be deadly faster than any of us would like to think.
