California Women for Agriculture Appoints Bonnie Weigel as Ventura County Chapter President

Feb. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- The Ventura County Chapter of California Women for Agriculture, a founding chapter for the agricultural organization whose mission is to promote a strong industry in California, has announced Bonnie Weigel as its new president.

Weigel, who has been president and CEO of Ventura County’s FOOD Share since 2008, will serve a two-year term. As president of CWA’s Ventura County Chapter, Weigel will facilitate meetings to bring together the opportunity to share news and updates on the agricultural industry in the community, regionally and nationally. She will also invite and inform local residents about CWA projects and initiatives.

“It is an honor to be voted as a leader of this amazing organization that values the enrichment of the agricultural industry, an industry I am very passionate about,” explains Weigel. “I am intensely aware of the importance of Ventura County’s rich agriculture heritage and dedicated to preserving it for future generations. I recognize that the strength of our local economy and wonderful quality of life we enjoy here are directly tied to the continued health and prosperity of our agricultural industry.”

Prior to her new role as President at CWA, Weigel previously served as a Ventura County Chapter Director and subsequently Vice President. Weigel also serves as Vice President of the 31^st AG District for the State of California.
