Feb. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- Lawrence, NY, Operant Systems’TeachMe Skills ,a mobile and web technology, that aids them in the planning, observing, recording, analyzing and modifying a student’s progress has been awarded the IBCCES Blue Ribbon. The IBCCES Blue Ribbon Award certifies programs that address students with autism. Operant Systems’TeachMe Skills was selected for the company’s focus on supporting staff that work with the special needs students, and is among only a select group nominated among thousands of programs operating throughout the United States.

Professionals—including speech and language teachers, physical and occupational therapists, the special-education staff—also use the app to document their provision of services. Behavioral data is hosted “in the cloud” by Operant. Clinicians analyze the data using a TeachMe Skills mobile and web interfaces with graphs and charts that show the severity and frequency of monitored behaviors. They conduct these analyses from anywhere, at any time, either with an Internet connection.

Clinicians use their analyses to help decide whether each child’s treatment plan is proving effective, and to make changes to those plans—for example, changing behaviors to be monitored or skills to be learned. Those changes are immediately sent over the web to the Windows Phones of the relevant staff members.

"A resource shouldn't just be something that's nice to have, it should be a tool that makes a professional want to wake up and go to work because they know they will change a life today! It should bring joy, inspiration and create a lasting drive in ones professional career, Lyndsey Herrman, CEO, IBCCES.

Operant Systems’TeachMe Skills was awarded the IBCCES Blue Ribbon based on reported benefits that included:

• Recording timely data

• Enabling staff to record data at the right time and the right place

• Increasing a student’s positive behaviors while decreasing negative behaviors

• Reducing risk of litigation by providing reliable data

• Reducing administrative work for staff

• Enabling clinicians, psychiatrists and teachers to make more effective decisions.

• Providing a consistent, simple and powerful tool across disciplines

The IBCCES Blue Ribbon Award allows those working in special education to seek a program or product that addresses one or more area(s) of autism.   Only programs and products that are referred to IBCCES from a respected company or industry leader are eligible for the CAS Blue Ribbon Program.
