CGR to Review Alabama Community Development Agency

Project seeks to enhance processes, outcomes in City of Birmingham
 
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - March 5, 2014 - PRLog -- CGR has been engaged by the City of Birmingham, Alabama to complete a strategic review of its Department of Community Development. The evaluation will focus on the agency’s administrative and financial reporting infrastructure and identify improvement opportunities.

The Department of Community Development administers the City’s federally-funded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) programming, supporting more than $7 million in critical housing, neighborhood and development services. The agency also oversees federal grant compliance, code enforcement and building inspection functions.

Alabama’s largest urban center, the City of Birmingham has a population of 212,000 and its metropolitan area accounts for a quarter of the state’s total population.

CGR will complete the project in spring 2014.
