Follow on Google News | ![]() Sprint iPhone 5 Without Contract Now Available Through TingBy: Ting.com Ting has a whitelist of all the Bring Your Own Devices to Ting feature where a mobile carrier subscriber can check and make sure their smartphone will work on the Ting network. An “unlocked device” is usually a GSM cellphone that will not be compatible with Ting. Also, unlocked smartphones from mobile carriers such as T-Mobile, Verizon or AT&T can also not be brought over to Ting. Ting has several hundred whitelisted cellphones that can be looked up on their website. The iPhone 4 can also be ported over to Ting’s network as well as long as the smartphone is listed in their whitelist. Usually the time it takes to bring a current smartphone over to Ting is around two to three hours but this can vary on smartphone model and time of day etc. It is important to make sure you know where your ESN/MEID is on the iPhone 5 underneath the battery. It is also possible to find out what this 18-digit number is within the Apple iPhone settings. Ting has very good customer service so if a new mobile subscriber has issues or difficulties the Ting staff can walk through new subscribers on this procedure which usually just takes minutes and a few hours wait while the carriers update their database and get you on the no contract cellphone plan from Ting. Please note, Ting does not offer the Apple iPhone for sale on their website so it must be previously purchased from the Sprint mobile carrier or from various other websites such as Glyde, Amazon, Swappa or even eBay that originally came from the Sprint carrier. Make sure the the iPhone 5 model comes with a nano-SIM. This nano-SIM must be in the iPhone to successfully activate it on the Ting network. Without a nano-SIM present within the iPhone, it will not be possible to activate the phone with Ting. However, it is possible to buy a nano-SIM from your local Best Buy store or Sprint corporate retail store should you discover that you need one. There is more information on this available here: http://ting.7eer.net/ Jailbroken iPhones are not guaranteed to work and will also void any warranties still left on the smartphone. As of this press release the iPhone 5S is currently not supported. End
