San Diego Flash Wins Regular Season Home Opener

SAN DIEGO - March 23, 2014 - PRLog -- San Diego, Ca. - The San Diego Flash Soccer Club (1 - 0 - 0) and FC Santa Clarita Storm (0 - 0 - 1) met in San Diego for The Flash's Home Opener of the 2014 National Premier Soccer League regular season.

With an early goal at the 7th minute by San Diego player #7 Nathan Medina, The Flash set the tone in an impressive victory. The San Diego Flash prevailed by a final score of 3:1 over the visiting Storm in Mira Mesa.

Goals by Flash players #18 Alessandro Canale ('17) and #8 Andy O'rtega ('68), showed the dominance of San Diego, despite a single goal from Santa Clarita player #8 Eduardo Medina; who scored for The Storm in the 73rd minute.

Although this was the regular season home opener for San Diego Flash, it's not their first match of 2014. The Club is coming off 2 wins in a pre-season tournament. These wins have qualified the team for entry into the prestigious Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup; a national tournament that is 101years old as of 2014. In this tourney, soccer teams from all levels of U.S. Soccer, including, Major League Soccer, get the opportunity to compete against each other.
