Major League Soccer Player Gives San Diego Flash Immediate Contribution

SAN DIEGO - April 6, 2014 - PRLog -- A good match-up on paper turned into a statement match as the San Diego Flash Soccer Club (3 - 0 - 0) put away FC Hasental (2 - 0 - 1) by a score of 5:0 at Mira Mesa Stadium.

Recent Major League Soccer player, Ryan Guy, was named Man of the Match by Coach Jerome Watson. Guy just joined the roster of the San Diego side after getting clearance to play this week. He played the past 2 seasons with New England Revolution of MLS. He is also a native of San Diego and Alum of University of San Diego.

Said Coach Watson, "Ryan was very disruptive to their defense and made excellent runs that opened space and opportunities for himself and his teammates."

In recent years, the Championship of the Southwest Conference in the National Premier Soccer League has been won by these two teams. The San Diego Flash finished the 2013 season in second place behind FC Hasental. During the 2011 and 2012 seasons the San Diego Flash won the NPSL Southwest Conference in front of FC Hasental.

Just 3 weeks ago, these two teams met in a pre-season qualifier at Hasental (Thousand Oaks) to decide a precious U.S. Open Cup spot. The Flash were able to come away with a 2:1 come-from-behind victory. It seemed as though FC Hasental would have had revenge on their minds; especially being the defending Conference Champs. However, after tonight's decisive win in San Diego, The Flash look as though they are ready to reclaim their spot as Champions again this season.
