Joe Muscaglione and Paul Ellis are co-founders and partners in ME Fine Wines. “Most people can spell Ellis – the “E” in ME, but most have a little difficulty spelling Muscaglione“ More on Joe and Paul later. The highest rated wine from South Africa to date? Yep. They were the first to bring it to Las Vegas. The highest rated Canadian wine to date? Yep. They were the first and still represent it, only now they represent the top three Canadian wines to date. The first and only premium wines from China? Check. Dragon’s Hollow, gaining a very loyal following remains the only premium wines from China in the USA. Having said that, it is the Italian wine portfolio, with an unprecedented 30 plus Three Glass wines from Italy (Italy’s highest honor) and dozens of 95+ point rated wine that is unmatched. With Italy, an obvious dominant strength, it is no wonder they were the first to introduce into the Las Vegas market Italy’s finest craft brews. They have introduced cutting-edge brands such as Panil, Bruton and Collesi and virtually every other craft beer from Italy that you see in the market today. But they didn’t stop with Italy. Brands such as Hitachino from Japan and Belgium's highest rated beers - St Bernardus, Piraat, Gulden Draak, Cantillon, Fantome, Achel, Struise, as well as Germany's Kulmbacher, all were introduced to Sin City by them. Paul R Ellis one of the founders was the former Wine Director for MGM Grand Resort, Charlie Palmer Steak and Aquaknox. Paul also served as the South West Regional Manager for Champagne Roederer/Cristal and instructed at Le Cordon Bleu; The Art Institute and CSN, Las Vegas. Prior to moving to Las Vegas Paul spent a dozen years as Wine Instructor at UCLA (helping to develop the certification course) and was a consultant to Christies Auction House, Beverly Hills. It was in 2008 that Paul began working together with his friend, Joe Muscaglione Like Paul, Joe Muscaglione too is a food and wine professional with three decades of experience. Joe is an award winning Chef and former restaurateur, sommelier and was one of the first Beverage Directors for famed Babbo in NYC. Joe was a wine consultant for Winebow and called on many of the metropolitan areas top restaurants before moving to Las Vegas and was recruited as the opening Beverage Director for TAO, Las Vegas In a city well known for importing talented food and wine professionals from all over the world, it is nice to see a local company in demand on a national scale.
