First Ever Multilingual Speech Contest

Jointly sponsored by District 4 Toastmasters and Walmart eCommerce

March 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Toastmasters’ Multilingual Speech Contest is scheduled for Thursday, April 17th, 2014 from 6 pm to 9pm at Walmart, 850 Cherry Ave, San Bruno. This celebration of multiculturalism will feature speech competitions in Mandarin, Japanese and Vietnamese.  Contestants represent several bilingual Toastmasters clubs in the Bay Area. It is the first of its kind in the 90-year-old history of Toastmasters International, a public speaking and leadership skills-building organization. The contest will open with a keynote from Toastmasters International CEO Daniel Rex.

This gathering is the brainchild of the current District Governor for the Greater Bay Area, Rita Deo Barber.  She states, “This has been a dream I've had in mind for three years, so it's very precious to me - it underscores how we are a global community.

The event is free to the public, thanks to the generous, underwriting support of Walmart eCommerce in San Bruno.   Pre-registration is not necessary, but will be appreciated by the event coordinators at https://district4tm.wufoo.com/forms/multilingual-speech-contests/.  For additional inquiries, please contact Lt. Gov. Education & Training, Bina Mehta at lget@d4tm.org.
