Mayor Wayne Tuggle of Eden, North Carolina issues Mayoral Proclamation for Poetry

GREENSBORO, N.C. - April 1, 2014 - PRLog -- In celebration of National Poetry Month, Mayor Wayne R. Tuggle, Sr. of Eden, North Carolina issued a Mayoral Proclamation to commemorate this nationwide poetry event in April. In additional to several mayors in cities and towns across the state, who participated in this request from North Carolina poet Kym Gordon Moore, Mayor Tuggle graciously agreed to issue a proclamation for the Town of Eden.

The Academy of American Poets inaugurated National Poetry Month in 1996 which is celebrated every April. Schools, publishers, libraries, booksellers and poets throughout the United States band together to celebrate poetry and its vital place in American culture. Individuals and organizations participate through readings, festivals, book displays, workshops and other poetry-related events to commemorate a genre that is reviving itself as a viable contributor to the development of creativity, awareness and education around the country.

At times there’s a tour de force in the words that give insight into the psyche of each individual. I must say that “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost has been a point to ponder in everyone’s life,” states Mayor Tuggle.
