Celebrate Riverbanks Zoo’s 40th Anniversary with Wine Tasting at Riverbanks Botanical Garden

April 4, 2014 - PRLog -- To commemorate 40 years of the Riverbanks Zoo, Riverbanks Society will be holding an all-day celebration on April 25, which will be capped off with a wine tasting event from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Riverbanks Botanical Garden. Fine wines, gourmet appetizers, and live music will be the highlights of this fundraising event, sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover Columbia (http://www.jaguarcolumbia.com/our-history/).

A fantastic array of over 100 exquisite wines will be available for tasting, along with a fine assortment of select craft beers. Riverbanks Zoo and Garden’s Events and Hospitality catering division, along with some of the Columbia area’s best restaurants and catering services including Hudson's Classic Catering, Miyo's, and Melting Pot will provide delicious and savory appetizers.

While attendees enjoy the food and drink, live jazz performed by the Jamie Beresford Band will complement the evening.

Tickets purchased in advance are $40 for Riverbanks members and $50 for the general public. Sponsor Jaguar Land Rover Columbia encourages all those who would like to join in the festivities to get their tickets early as there are only a limited number of tickets available, and if any tickets remain on the day of the event they will be priced at $60 each. All proceeds from the wine tasting event will go to support the wildlife conservation and education programs at Riverbanks. It is the policy of Riverbanks Zoo and Garden to promote responsible drinking, and, in partnership with 2nd Wind Heating and Air, they will be providing a Safe Ride program to offer cab service to hotels and residences in Lexington and Richland counties.

The festive wine tasting at the Botanical Garden will take place rain or shine and is sure to be a wonderful way to celebrate Riverbanks Zoo and show support for the important work being done throughout the Lowcountry by Riverbanks Zoo and Garden.
