Dimension Marketing’s Director of Operations Shares Secrets Behind Firm’s Success

PITTSBURGH - April 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Director of Operations, Hilary T., explains how the firm has flourished so impressively with her leadership. Dimension Marketing’s Director of Operations, Hilary T., grew up in Chicago, Illinois. Hilary’s love of learning is reflected in her educational background having graduated with two degrees, one in business management and one in communications, along with a minor in political science from the University of Illinois. “Between my two degrees, I’ve learned a lot in school, it really prepared me for entering the real working world. That really put everything into play,” she said.

Hilary states that her time in college helped shape her management style as an upfront, ambitious and competitive leader. However, Hilary stresses that the people with whom she surrounds herself are the real secret behind her success. “My primary motivation is knowing that with every milestone I accomplish, I have more knowledge to help my team succeed in their career and in life.”

Dimension Marketing’s Director of Operations also attributes her discipline and competitiveness in business to her experiences as an athlete. She was on the national teams for both basketball and track and served as captain and shooting guard of her team and ran the 400m, 800m and long jump in track.

“It brought out not only my competitive nature but it also helped me learn how to lead and help my team. More importantly it showed me how hard and long you have to practice for and work to be ready to play the game,” Hilary said.

She got her start in the interactive marketing industry just like most other people, by answering an ad. While it was a new business model, she was immediately attracted to the independence it offered and the fact that the only one who could set a ceiling for her career was herself.

She explained: “I hated someone else telling me how much I was worth and what I could and couldn’t do. I like to work and live according to my own standards.”

The Director of Operations also iterates that her student-mentality has helped her gain invaluable skills through Dimension Marketing. She cites that her public speaking skills and ability to relate to others have been thoroughly enhanced. She has also developed a talent to read and recognize different situations for what they are in order to respond appropriately rather than to just reacting to situations and challenges.

Hilary’s high ambitions have served Dimension Marketing well and the firm has grown into four new markets in just a year and a half. Thurmond explains: “We are where we are because of hard work for sure. But in addition to that, we as a team are excellent at listening and taking the advice of people who came before us, established leaders in experiential marketing. My greatest asset is humbling myself and accepting that there are other people who might know more than I do in one topic or another. When you have that mindset, then you’re always ready to learn and you’re always ready to grow. I like to think that my team follows in my footsteps when it comes to learning from others.”

In the time that Hilary has led Dimension Marketing, the firm has already expanded into four new markets, but in a highly competitive industry, the Director of Operations understands that consistent progression is how a company achieves stability.
