Follow on Google News | Old Saybrook National Day of Prayer Gathering to Honor Law Enforcement, First Responders–Local law enforcement and emergency services personnel will be honored as part of a National Day of Prayer event held on Thurs, May 1st, at 7 p.m. at the Old Saybrook Gazebo on the Town Green at 302 Main St
By: Max Sabrin All are welcome to the Old Saybrook event, including police and other law enforcement personnel as well as career and volunteer first responders, such as firefighters and those who provide emergency medical services. The Old Saybrook National Day of Prayer event will include prayer, worship and fellowship for all attending. Both the Old Saybrook Police and Fire Departments' honor guard units will also participate in the evening event. The National Day of Prayer is held on the first Thursday of May. This national annual observance invites people to pray for the nation. According to the National Day of Prayer organization, the annual observance was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the U.S. Congress and was signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
