Follow on Google News | HOMETOWN URGENT CARE Supports Eagle Scout's Hilliard Heart Health Day, May 15Each year, 7000 young people die as a result of cardiac events. Hilliard Resident and Eagle Scout candidate Jack Rogers, Troop 734 is presenting Hilliard Heart Health Day on May 15 at 5:30 pm, at the Hilliard Memorial Middle School Lacrosse Stadium.
By: Hometown Urgent Care and Occupational Health As an avid lacrosse player, he was aware of both the benefits and the risks of playing sports, including sudden cardiac episodes. His goal was to provide his middle school alma mater, Hilliard Memorial Middle School, with an automated external defibrillator (AED) and to create an event to promote heart health in his hometown community. He found a partner right across the street at Hometown Urgent Care on Scioto-Darby Road. Ohio-based Hometown Urgent Care is Ohio’s largest urgent care company, with 20 locations. Because Hometown Urgent Care is a complete medical facility with x-rays, labs, and EKG’s, the company was able to work with its own vendors and supply Rogers with a new AED free of charge. The AED will be placed at the Hilliard Memorial Middle School Field House for use by coaches, students and staff. “We are honored to help Mr. Rogers in his efforts to encourage heart health for young athletes in Hilliard,” said Manoj Kumar, CEO of Hometown Urgent Care. “Hometown has a long history of giving back to the communities that we serve, and we are happy that Jack Rogers brought us this opportunity to give back to our friends in Hilliard.” Jack will present the AED to the Hilliard Schools in a special ceremony during the May 15 Memorial/Heritage lacrosse game at the Hilliard Memorial Middle School Lacrosse Stadium at 5:30 pm. In conjunction with the presentation, Rogers has organized the first Hilliard Heart Health Day, featuring information on cardiac health, blood pressure checks provided by Hometown Urgent Care, fitness information, and a used athletic equipment drive to benefit underprivileged athletes in Hilliard. Attendees will also have the opportunity to win tickets to an Ohio Machine lacrosse match and other unique sports experiences. - - - - Hometown Urgent Care and Occupational Health is Ohio’s largest urgent care system, operating urgent care and occupational health centers in Dayton, Columbus, North East Ohio and Michigan.
