BOSTON - May 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Assistant Attorney General Nancy Maroney has withdrawn from the prosecution of the case against Dr. Punyamurtula Kishore and his practice, Preventive Medicine Associates. Ms. Maroney notified the Court that her last appearance would be April 4, 2013 and that someone else from Attorney General Martha Coakley's office would take over.

The AG's office had no comment regarding the departure of Ms. Maroney, and it is uncertain why she was taken off the case. This follows the departure of the lead investigator of the prosecution team, Brian Robinson, who left the AG's office in 2013.

Dr. Punyamurtula Kishore was arrested on September 21, 2011 and charged in an elaborate kickback scheme to defraud Medicaid. He has been awaiting trial on the charges as the Attorney General's office has delayed the trial numerous times.

The departure of key players in both the investigation and prosecution of Dr. Kishore has raised questions as to the validity of the charges against him. Kishore has strongly denied all charges and has refused any negotiated settlement.

Supporters have set up a web site: www.KishoresStory.info that provides more insight on the protracted case.
