ICC Jerusalem will be hosting the 47th Annual Meeting of ESPGHAN

May 8, 2014 - PRLog -- The 47th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition will take place from Monday 9 to Thursday 12 June 2014, at the ICC Jerusalem, Israel.

An international medical conference of this size has not been held in Israel for a long time.About 4,000 doctors and other specialists in the gastroenterology field are expected to arrive in Jerusalem to share the most up-to-date information and knowledge, and receive updates on Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.

The annual ESPGHAN conference is considered to be the top conference in its field in the world.It was held last year in London and drew more than 4000 participants from all over the world.ICC Jerusalem has been working on holding the conference in Jerusalem for five years in a long-term process in cooperation with Prof. Raanan Shamir, Head of the Gastroenterology Institute at Schneider Children's Medical Center of Israel and Professor of Pediatrics at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. (Prof. Shamir is a member of the board of the organization and Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee).

These immense efforts have been successful and, following numerous meetings and discussions, Jerusalem was declared as the destination for 2014 conference.  ICC Jerusalem was chosen to host the conference, winning out over numerous professional conference centers from all over the world that vied for the right to host this prestigious event.
