Industrial Box PC series for control tasks

May 8, 2014 - PRLog -- The new fanless Box computers from Artila for industrial applications have the name Matrix 516 and are available with immediate effect from the independent distributor acceed. The Matrix 516 is the latest development in the proven Matrix series and now offers eight isolated RS-485 interfaces. The devices already convince at first sight with robust metal casing and are particularly well-suited as controllers for demanding automation technology applications.

The Matrix 516 is equipped with a 400 MHz ARM9 processor, 64 MB SDRAM, 128 MB NAND flash memory and 2 MB data flash memory. It has two 10/100 Ethernet interfaces, two USB interfaces and eight isolated RS-485 interfaces which are particularly advantageous for machine control. Furthermore, a microSD slot is provided for memory cards up to 32 GB. Twenty-one programmable IO interfaces are provided for connection to external signal transmitters or relays.

The operating system Linux 2.6.29 is installed by default. The POSIX GLIBC library as well as the GNU C and C++ compilers are available for the development of own programs. Current software packages and updates are available from the acceed website. The robust metal casing with the dimensions of 160 × 104 × 32 mm is suitable both for top-hat rail assembly and for simple wall installation. The admissible ambient temperature for operation is 0 to +70 °C.
