Follow on Google News | General Motors Donates Chevrolet Equinox and a Malibu to Cerritos College AutomotiveGeneral Motors (GM) donated a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox and a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu to the Cerritos College Automotive Technology program. GM donated the vehicles from Tustin Buick/GMC and The Westside Group in Torrance.
"We are fortunate to receive two more Global Architecture vehicles from General Motors. The 2014 Malibu has a new 12 volt stop/start technology where the vehicle basically doesn’t idle in order to save fuel. The gas engine will shut down and lights and in stop and go traffic. It is a Global vehicle so it is different from a diagnostic standpoint,” The GM ASEP program prepares students for the workforce by providing classroom and hands-on instruction as well paid on-the-job training. “Our ASEP program has 16 first year students and 15 second year students. These students will be able to work on the donated vehicles during the hands-on portion of our classes,” said Cerritos College Automotive Instructor, Joe Mulleary. The next GM program at Cerritos College starts October, 2014.
