Follow on Google News | Cerritos College Technology Division Uses QR Codes for CITEA 85th Annual State ConferenceCerritos College Technology Division posted maps with QR Codes around the college campus for guests at the CITEA 85th Annual Conference.
“For the conference, we posted QR codes on the maps around the campus. Each QR code had information on how to get to the next location,” said Dean of the Technology Division, Dr. Nick Real. “This conference is a great opportunity for educators and industry to see what’s hot and new in industrial and technology education and what better way to embody that spirit that by incorporating technology into the whole event.” The California Industrial and Technology Education Association (CITEA) 85th Annual Conference was held on April 4th and 5th, 2014 at Cerritos College. Over 100 people attended the event. Attendees included Career Technology Education (CTE) teachers, administrators, and counselors from middle schools, high schools, ROC/Ps, community colleges, and universities. Industry members also attended as presenters and exhibitors. Workshops, seminars, and presentations included best practices in technology for Alternative Energy, Automotive, Construction, Green Construction, Drafting, Solar, STEM, Welding, and Woodworking. “The purpose of this conference was to connect Industrial and Technology teachers with other teachers and industry partners. Cerritos College was a great place to make these connections and sharing happen. It was a great event!" said Richard Nicholson, CITEA Southern Section Chairperson.
