By: StangBangers.com A decade later, we have the 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor, which brings us comparable performance in an updated package. The F-150 Tremor is powered by Ford’s 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine, pumping out 365 horsepower at 5,000 rpm (on regular fuel) and 420 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,500 rpm. Up to 90 percent peak torque is available from 1,700 rpm to 5,000 rpm. Our Ruby Red Metallic Tremor was a 4X2 short-wheelbase, regular cab, which works great as long as a third person doesn’t need a ride (in the cab, anyway). The 6-speed automatic transmission shifted flawlessly. A launch-optimized 4.10 rear axle and electronic locking differential provided quick off-the-line acceleration. The 26 gallon fuel tank helps offset the 18 MPG combined city/hwy rating. We saw 15 MPG in mostly suburban crawl driving. The black leather interior looked good, and the bucket seats were very comfortable. Standard options are thorough, but not extensive. “Tremor” package adds P275/55R20 all-season Pirelli Scorpion STR tires, power adjustable pedals, and HID headlamps. “Tremor Plus” package adds navigation, remote start, pickup bed extender, tailgate step, rear view camera, and reverse sensing system. “FX Appearance” package tacks on black tubular running boards and 20” flat-black painted wheels. Spray-in bed liner is also available as a factory option. Our Tremor had all of these options, and carried an MSRP of $41,410. Base price was $34,270, so $7,140 in options. Destination and Delivery adds $1,195. The Tremor definitely has a “presence” It may not be a full-blown earthquake, but we were definitely feeling the Tremor!
