UVS 40 High Intensity UV Source for Surface Science

WARRINGTON, U.K. - May 30, 2014 - PRLog -- The UVS 40 is a high intensity Photon Source capable of operation with a range of discharge gases and suited to UPS measurements under ultra-high vacuum conditions.
The source is water cooled for increased stabilisation and the circuitry is fully interlocked to prevent accidental damage. A dual stage differential pumping scheme is employed to ensure that UHV chamber pressure is maintained whilst operating at maximum photon intensity in the source.  A great advantage of the design is the continuous gas flow conditions through the discharge region, which help to maintain the cleanliness of the discharge capillary, resulting in very long service intervals before cleaning is required. Both constant discharge current or discharge voltage modes of operation are supported to provide optimum conditions.
The UVS power supply provides high stability control of the source, ensuring accurate and reproducible He I / He II ratio. It now also features a touchscreen interface which can additionally be operated via mobile applications for greater flexibility.
