Follow on Google News | The Rock Church to Begin Worship Services in the South CountyCommunity Kick-off Planned for June 14th at San Ysidro High School
By: Rock Church Through a lease agreement with the Sweetwater Union High School District, the Rock will pay the district to use the school’s theater on Sundays for worship services. Beginning in September, the Rock will hold three services each Sunday – at 8:00 am, 10:00 am and 12:00 pm. The free community kick-off event on June 14th will feature activities for children, including a bounce house, as well as a special message at 2:30 pm from Pastor Miles McPherson, founder of the Rock Church, who will share the Rock’s vision and also introduce the pastor of this new South County campus. San Ysidro High School is located at 5353 Airway Road, right off State Route 905, just east of Interstate 805. Founded in 2000, the Rock Church initially held its worship services at San Diego State University. Since then it has grown into three campuses with five weekend services. In addition, the church operates the Rock Academy Christian school and oversees hundreds of active community groups and ministries committed to making an impact in San Diego County. The Rock launched its North County campus in San Marcos in 2010. And last summer, the Rock’s East County campus opened in El Cajon. “The Rock Church is committed to spreading pervasive hope throughout San Diego County,” We are excited to see how God will continue to use the people of the Rock Church to impact San Diego and beyond,” said McPherson. ABOUT THE ROCK The Rock is San Diego’s largest church and the 29th largest church in the nation according to Outreach Magazine’s 2013 “America’s Fastest-Growing and Largest Outreach 100 Churches” survey. It was started in 2000 by Pastor Miles McPherson, a former NFL player. Over 12,500 people attend the Rock’s five Sunday services. For more information, visitwww.sdrock.com End
