Rock Church Hosts Good Friday at Petco’s Park in the Park Providing FREE Community Resources

SAN DIEGO - April 15, 2014 - PRLog -- What:  For the second year, Rock Church volunteers will spend Good Friday blessing the downtown San Diego community at Petco Park. Last year, more than 2,800 people attended the resource event hosted in the parking lot, and more than 4,000 people attended the service in Petco’s Park in the Park. For the 2014 Good Friday event, around 3,000 people are expected at resource event and 4,000 at the service.

Beginning at 8:30AM, volunteers will be in Petco Park’s parking lot providing food, care packages, haircuts, and health screenings for attendees provided by the Sharp Health Fair. Other community partners include the Veteran’s Village of San Diego and Veterans Administration who will provide assistance with VA paperwork, San Joaquin Valley College who will give away free toothbrushes, toothpaste and dental services and Uplift.org will be teaming up with Urban ministries to help individuals obtain CA ID.

In addition, as free service open to the community, Rock Church’s computer service ministry will be offering complimentary computer cleaning to rid both laptops and desktops of materials causing them to run slow.

Community members will also have the opportunity to do good on Good Friday by dropping off non-perishable food on Friday, April 18 from 8:30AM-2PM at Petco's Park in the Park to benefit the San Diego Food Bank or donating blood on Friday April 18 from 8:30AM-12PM at Petco Park’s parking lot.

At noon, volunteers and guests will move into Petco’s Park in the Park to enjoy music before Rock Church Senior Pastor Miles McPherson closes the event with a Good Friday message.
