Air Products Honors Former Chairman Ed Donley with Documentary

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - June 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Community leaders, government officials, and Air Products employees gathered June 9th to honor Ed Donley and celebrate his leadership and dedication to community with the premiere of Education for All: The Vision of Ed Donley.  Mr. Donley, a former presidential advisor and national leader in education was Chairman and Chief Executive of Trexlertown, PA-based Air Products from 1978-1986.

The documentary, produced by Emmy® award winning ASR Media Productions, chronicles Donley's life of humble beginnings through earning an engineering scholarship at Lawrence Tech and his employment and subsequent rise to chairman at the Fortune 300 Company. It highlights his national leadership on educational initiatives and inspires future generations to do the same.   Congressman Charlie Dent, when introducing the film and recounting Donley’s many years of business and community service, stated, “Ed Donley exemplifies an ordinary person who has done extraordinary things.”

In Education for All: The Vision of Ed Donley, Mr. Donley recounts his personal story including his early corporate days as the 11th employee of Air Products, the ‘seventy-year romance' with his wife Inez, his philanthropic partner and a community leader herself, and how he came to champion early childhood education. In his remarks on Monday, Mr. Donley kindly offered both his thanks and encouragement for excellence in our region.

Local leaders who honored Donley included Lee Butz, Chairman of Butz Enterprises and civic leader; Congressman Charlie Dent, Jane Ervin, President and CEO, Community Services for Children, and Ed Meehan, Executive Director of Rider-Pool Foundation. Each reflected that Ed Donley's legacy and impact enhanced not only our local community but has had national significance as well. Mr. Donley’s energy, intelligence and commitment to the availability of education for everyone has remained strong, even into his 92nd year!
