Gigastrand Releases Gigastrand OS 1.2

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - June 26, 2014 - PRLog -- Gigastrand has begun shipment of it's second minor revision of Gigastrand OS 1.0. Called Gigastrand OS 1.2, this revision will be the final 1.x release. This is currently available for sale in retail box. A download will be made available July 1st.

Gigastrand is releasing this at the same time as they are releasing Gigastrand OS 2.0 - an unusual move for any developer. When asked why, Gigastrand founder and CEO, Josh Tordsen explains.

"(Gigastrand OS) 1.0 is still a viable product. If we are going to continue to support it, we might as well release a final minor revision. Gigastrand 1.0 works well on PCs that have limited resources as it is designed for older hardware yet runs on newer hardware."

Gigastrand OS 1.2 in retail box is being offered at a discount at gigastrand.biz. Gigastrand 2.0 is also currently shipping in retail box. Support for Gigastrand 1.x versions will continue for the foreseeable future. A support end date for the 1.x versions of the Gigastrand OS has yet to be announced.
