Hatfields Celebrates Jaguar’s Halewood Investment

LIVERPOOL, U.K. - June 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Hatfields are welcoming the announcement that Halewood in Merseyside has been chosen to build the new Land Rover Discovery Sport model. The announcement from Jaguar Land Rover last week is seen as a vote of confidence and an acknowledgement of the hard work that's gone into building the Halewood plant into a huge success story.

Land Rovers have always been a firm favourite across the North of England and the popularity of our Hull, Liverpool and Pickering dealerships reflect that"

Dr Ralf Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover "One of our four new products we are going to develop will be built here in Halewood in our factory in Liverpool. It will be manufactured here as part of our continuing investment in Halewood."

The workforce at the plant has trebled in the past four years with 24 hour operations and three separate shifts. The expansion has seen the number of vehicles produced quadruple.

The Discovery Sport is expected to be unveiled at this year's Paris Motor Show in October and will be available to buy in 2015. It represents the first model of an completely revamped Land Rover Discovery range. With the new range Land Rover is stating that the Discovery Sport will be "the most versatile and capable vehicle in the compact SUV segment".

Hatfields set up one of the first Jaguar dealerships in the word in the 1930s and have Jaguar and Land Rover dealerships throughout the north of England.
