The traditional view has always been that June was too associated with weddings themselves, and it was a time when men would start to think that maybe it’s time for them to propose. In more modern times, when proposals were less of a surprise and more of a decision reached between the couple, that trend continued. These days, young couples are also faced with the added expense that goes into attending weddings, even if they aren’t part of the wedding party. With more and more couples choosing destination weddings and registering at expensive boutiques, a couple simply doesn’t have the cash flow in June, typically, to buy diamond engagement rings.
