The Cupboard Inc. to host ‘Purple Carpet Affair’ event

INDIANAPOLIS - July 25, 2014 - PRLog -- The Cupboard Inc. is proud to announce their opening night celebration of their rendition of Oprah Winfrey’s The Color Purple by hosting a “Purple Carpet Affair” event prior to show time on Aug 1 at Marian University, 3200 Cold Spring Road at 5 p.m. The event will include a tented vendor fair, free hors d’oeuvres, a cast meet and greet along with cake and punch to celebrate.

“This is a celebration of not only the launching of the tour but to also celebrate all of the support the organization has received and this is our way of giving back.” said Samantha Pounds, a spokesperson for the organization.

The Cupboard Inc. is preparing to launch a ten city tour of Oprah Winfrey’s The Color Purple with the intention of spreading the organization’s goal and mission of launching a mobile food pantry this fall to help families in need.

“We are launching a mobile food pantry this fall for families in need and we {The Cupboard Inc.] leverage the arts to help the community.” said Joyce Licorish, president of the organization and also stars as Sophia in the show.

Admission into the “Purple Carpet Affair” event is free with proof of purchase of a Color Purple ticket for any night.

The Color Purple opens Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. and will end Aug. 3 with a matinee starting at 3 p.m.
