New Sit On Top Kayak from Lomo

Lomo’s Omega Sit On Top is 1 person boat that has many of the features normally found only on much more expensive boats. At 267cm long the boat is a good length for a variety of uses and is at home both on the sea and on rivers. The main use of this boat though will be for families who want to have some fun on the water in the summer without having to learn how to perform a roll etc. You can simply fall off then  climb back on. At 78cm wide the kayak is quite stable making it easy for beginners to control. The hull has a prominent keel ridge that makes the boat quite directionally stable and reduces the tendency to swing from side to side when paddling on flat water.

Unusually for a boat at this price, it comes complete with a luxury padded seat. The seat makes a huge difference to the comfort of your back and supports you well in a comfortable posture. The angle of the seat is adjustable by simply pulling on the side buckles and most people should be able to achieve a very comfortable seating position. 5 different foot stops are moulded into the kayak to accommodate people of different heights and the boat is suitable for adults and youths alike.

Storage comes in the form of a rear moulded section about the size of a daysack that is latticed with bungee cord to keep the contents from escaping. This can be used for a medium size drybag of around the 30L capacity. A hatch is provided in the middle of the boat , roughly between your legs, for things you want to keep close at hand. This hatch gives access to the main hull of the boat and relatively large items can be accommodated inside. Most people will want to keep smaller items in there and to make this simple Lomo have created a small pouch pocket that sits inside the hatch giving about 2L of capacity to keeps small items close at hand and not having them rolling all over the inside of the boat.

Carrying handles are provided at the font, rear and sides of the boat and a handy bungee loop is provided at the side of the boat to attach your paddle to the boat if you wanted to stop for a while and just float to take pictures etc.
