Follow on Google News | Top Ladies of Distinction Sponsor the 1st Annual National Sickle Cell Walk with $10,000 DonationTop Ladies of Distinction was organized by several women after they attended a luncheon where former First Lady, Mrs. Lyndon Baines Johnson delivered the keynote. Mrs. Johnson’s words offered inspiration and encouragement that led to the founding of the organization. TLOD adopted the motto, “Serving Youth and Adults”, to which still serves the organization today. All TLOD chapters have programs that benefit sickle cell disease research and families throughout the United States. TLOD also provides donations that support research and events and have made significant impacts on awareness of the disease. TLOD members volunteer in hospitals and with various sickle cell disease organizations. Their countless hours of support have alleviated a great deal of stress and pain for many afflicted with the disease. “TLOD remains committed to finding a cure and improving the quality of health and services for families affected by sickle cell disease”, said Dr. Sharilyn D.
