Smidge Wines 2014 Vintage Report Released

ADELAIDE, Australia - July 30, 2014 - PRLog -- 2014 Smidge Wines Vintage Report from Matt Wenk

Each Year, Smidge's winemaker Matt Wenk pulls together a vintage report, summarising the weather, yields and other points of interest. Here is an excerpt from this year’s report:

"McLaren Vale, Eden Valley and the Adelaide Hills received excellent winter rainfall whereas the Barossa Valley did miss out to an extent. Temperatures in spring were typically mild across the board, coupled with careful irrigation management, especially in the Barossa, the season had a great start. Yields were average to below average, with the latter scenario seen mainly in the Barossa Valley and to reduce yields further in the Barossa, some vineyards experienced severe frosts in late 2013."

2012 Ging Released

In June, Smidge released the second ever vintage of The Ging, a McLaren Vale Shiraz from their Estate vineyard in the Willunga subregion.

Smidge have also released the "baby brother" to The Ging. Sourced from the same vineyard, the 2013 Houdini McLaren Vale Shiraz is now available and ready to enjoy. "This wine's growing popularity is testament to the care and attention that starts in the vineyard.
