A Tribute to David Bowie At Beat Hôtel

Aug. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- On Thursday, August 28^th, 2014 Beat Hôtel, located in Cambridge’s Harvard Square,presents a tribute to David Bowie with an evening of live performance featuring some of the British singer’s most iconic work. “This performance is a 21st century re-imagining of David Bowie's music. The musicians, are all deep composers and practitioners of several genre of music from jazz, to funk, to experimental and contemporary sounds. We think of this series as more than a tribute. It is a redux and transfiguration of classic music from the heart of musicians who are true fans,” said Bruce Ferrara, Music Director for Beat Hôtel. Taking the stage that night will be a diverse group of artists from Boston and beyond starring The Steve Fell Band, with guitarist, and composer Steve Fell. Fell is a fixture on the Boston music scene, performing with many groups in a variety of settings from free jazz and experimental to west African and Caribbean ensembles. Several special guests will also be paying tribute to the “Ziggy Stardust” legend. An artist that needs no introduction, David Bowie’s eccentric personality and music have revolutionized the world of music. To honor the iconic musician, a rotating group of heavy hitters, led by The Steve Fell Band will take the Beat Hôtel’s stage from 9:30PM-1:00AM to fill the room with David Bowie classics.
While enjoying the music that evening, guests are welcome to enjoy a full dinner with selections such as the Zucchini Blossom Flatbread Pizza ($12), Smokey Chipotle BBQ Spare Ribs ($14) and Eggplant Roulade with broccoli rabe, wild mushrooms, mozzarella, pomodoro, and pasta ($22). Wine enthusiasts will appreciate Beat Hôtel’s acclaimed wine list featuring 24 American artisanal wines on tap and an acclaimed reserve list. Signature concoctions to imbibe include the Perfect Perfect Martini made with St. George Fin Terroir, Dolin Vermouth Blanc, and a blue cheese olive ($14), and the Mango Martini made with Kessar mango puree and Skyy Vodka  ($11).
