New Concert Series 805 Funk Fest Set To Kick Off with Legendary Music Acts on September 27

OXNARD, Calif. - Aug. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Chuck Dennis Productions has joined forces with Tri County Sentry Newspaper to present 805 Funk Fest 2014. The concert series, which is the first of its kind for Ventura County, will offer old school music fans an opportunity to enjoy performances from funk, soul and hip-hop acts of the late 70 and 80s. The event will take place at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center located at 800 Hobson Way, Oxnard, CA 93030. Doors open at 6:30pm, show begins at 7:30pm.

The festival will feature a group of high-profile artists including: A Taste of Honey, Club Nouveau, Dazz Band, Jo Jo of Mary Jane Girls, Howard Johnson, and Rodney-O & Joe Cooley. Special performances from The Road Brothers and Oxnard Peace Rallies Dance Crew will also take place during the evening.

In his words seasoned concert promoter and music visionary Charles Dennis says “The key to our concert series is changing the community through music and I am proud to bring this type of unique entertainment to the Ventura County. His efforts in recent years include a host of comedy shows, club events and mini-concerts. He also works heavily in the community to raise money for Performing Arts education through his popular 805’s Got Talent Showcase taking place in late October. Dennis hopes to make the 805 Funk Fest concert series a staple by offering it to the community multiple times throughout the year.
